PORTABLE COLOR – PROJEKT FARBE ROSA

This work was a personal experience in the social space to investigate on the influence of color in the self image and what a physical change means in the relationship with the world.

The happening consisted in the change of the natural hair color to pink color; it was made for the Bauhaus University project called "Farbe Rosa" where I had to deal with the amount of derogatory meanings that I attributed to this color. So, the decision was to carry this pink color myself for a time, unable to get rid of it.

A part of the body as an intervened element: hair as painting material. The intention was to use color in the building of self-image with which we make us known in society. Image loaded with codes, where a simple color change, turns the other's gaze over me, and changes assumptions and prejudices as well. Then, the image we create of ourselves has to do with the construction of the other's gaze.
